Catching up on Blogging

It’s been forever since my last post. But life has been busy!

So to catch up- I’m 30 now. Not sure how I feel, other than I might need to workout more so I can look more like I’m in my 20’s, even if it’s a lie. I think it’s a feel good lie- meaning I’ll feel good when people tell me that I don’t look like I’m 30. Thus today was Day 1 of the 30 Day Shred. Can you say—Hurt so BAD.

Any way, enough about my age and the shred that I may never forgive Big Mamma for recommending, or warning me about, either way it was a good decision to start at 6:30 this morning- I already feel accomplished today.

In other news, Chris has completely finished the Entertainment Center and it has been professionally painting to disguise any beginner’s mistakes. Which by the way, there are very few of. I’m in the process of picking out cute stuff to decorate it now.

It’s now over a month post op for my Dad and he is recovering well. Thanks to everyone that has been so supportive of the process.

To answer the question about what I bought for my friend’s sweet girl, a cute dress with matching hat, and a book as suggested. Both they just loved!

I’m going to be updating this blog more in the near future! I promise!

Cowgirl Gone Green...

Let me paint the picture for you…

It’s opening night at the rodeo. We have just finished watching the actual Rodeo, ending with kids riding sheep, which by the way, was hilarious.

We have great seats. We are about to watch this amazing concert with Rascal Flatts performing. The new stage is lighting up and it looks amazing. The excitement is growing.

About the time Rascal gets started,

This girl about 5 seats away from us decides all the Boon Farm wine she drank in the car ride to the Rodeo, must escape her body, NOW! She lost her cookies, right there in section 338, on about 6 of her friends.

Directly on them.

This of course causes mass panic, during the opening song and all six people go running up the stairs to the inside. Including the “Green” Cowgirl.

SO, it was gross, but we decided that clearly she was under age, and would be coming back, so we thought we’re good now. Clean-up on Isle four please…

I kid you not, 10 minutes later; the girl comes back with two guys.

They move down a row and she sits clutching a bottle of water. She still looks a little green, but we were just trying to enjoy the concert we had been looking forward to all day. We are now to the third song, when we hear it- She Does it again folks, this time nearly missing the lady in front of her!

Unbelievable!

I was in mid shot trying to take a picture of Rascal Flatts, when she started.

I went all the way to the Rodeo, and all I have to show for it is this picture.

Of RF's armpit. Nice.

That lady chases them off and we decided we had enough of the stale beer smell, and went home.

Hopefully they don't have season tickets and when we return to our seats for Darius Rucker, we can watch the show sitting next to more responsible college freshman...

The Dane, The Vacuum, and The Weekend

Sort of silly, but this was my latest dream item…I’ve been watching a waiting for the right time to pick this baby up, but after yesterday’s bath time with Lucy and the shedding that followed, I new that the vacuum could wait no longer.

Chris thought I was so excited you would have thought I had brought a baby home from the hospital. None the less, it is an amazing vacuum and I am so glad that I spent the money for it. I think that dog hair is my nemesis and this will help to maintain my sanity.

For months I’ve gone back and forth on which Dyson model to choose, and finally I decided I would spend the extra money for the Animal Ball. It was so worth it after 5 minutes of vacuuming Lucy’s bed with the pet hair attachment! It’s hair free and I’m a sane and happy women. I may just have clean floors yet. Tonight I’m using it again; I’m going back to my clean freak ways. I had relaxed a bit since moving in with Chris. It’s near impossible to keep up with Lucy’s shedding and giant messes. But I love her, and since everything we do, or buy it seems is to make life easier with a giant dog- this is totally worth it.

Even if you don’t have a Great Dane to clean up after, it’s worth the extra money!

In other news, the Cook-Off was totally fun. We ran into some old friends and it was great to see them. Baby shower was a total success with really great food that may have set me back this week, but that’s ok. Birthday party was pretty fun too.

We had such a busy weekend, I’ll be glad to have a relaxing week!

DIY and the Rodeo

In response to the comment yesterday, yes it’s true, I totally live with Bob Villa.

Well at least Bob Villa's faithful apprentice, and with hundreds of episodes of This Old House crowding the DVR, he is the inspiration for Chris's total love of woodworking and DIY projects! This by far was the largest wood project to date. Before that it was a coffee table, which has totally been shown up by the entertainment center.

Any how, Chris is very talented and I'm proud of him every day!

In other news, it's Rodeo time here!! Completely one of my favorite times of year. I think the Rodeo here holds fond memories for me. Having your picture taken as a child a top a giant stuffed bull, the sweet smell of cow dung, the glitz of the performers, it all sort of stays with you. Well, the Dung smell you try and forget, But, regardless the Rodeo is just plain fun! I’m going to do some searching and see if I can find the picture of me and my brother at the rodeo, circa 1985 or so for your viewing pleasure.

The trail riders are all over town right now, I just saw them heading down the highway the other day. Quite the sight, in the middle of this bustling town. Tonight, kicks off Rodeo season with the Cook Off. Can't wait for all the fun!

The rest of the weekend will include a birthday party and a baby shower. It's completely packed full of friends and fun! Should be a good one! I'll make sure to bring my camera so I can share some great pics on Monday!

Have a great weekend!

GREAT NEWS!!

Great News!

Great news on the weight loss journey I have been on for the last 5 weeks. Last night was the weigh in and I’m so proud to say I have officially lost 10 pounds.

I really love what I am doing right now and I’m so glad that it’s working!

I have 6 more pounds until I reach the 10% goal that was set in the beginning. Weight loss is such a struggle; it’s nice to celebrate in the joy right now.

In other news- we have been a household on fire with projects. Right now, it’s a built-in entertainment center/bookcase/storage Mecca! It’s really going great; Chris with help from a couple of friends really pulled it off. We still need to attach the trim, and paint, but for the most part it’s done!

I’ve been so bad about keeping up with my blog lately, I totally vow to do better!! For now I will leave you a couple of pics of the new entertainment center my honey built!

Dropping the Pounds.

All good news here.

Yesterday was weigh-in number two. I'm down another 2.2 lbs. Yippee!!! (Oh and the .2 totally counts!)So, basically I have lost 7.2 pounds!

Next week I'll give you another update. I'm hoping to make 5% of my current goal which is 8 pounds and totally possible if I stay on track. Thus far I have made very small daily goals for myself, like eat more veggies or drink more water. I feel that keeping those little goals is really helping reach towards the larger ones!

My first big goal is to loose 16 pounds and I am almost half way there! Next week I hope to tell you all that I reached it!

Have a great week!
